Rock Art in Bohemia. Regarding this particular stone I was given generous advice by Mr Stepan from the fellowship of stone-enthusiast called "Menhirostav".
Large piece of oval granite boulder half buried in grass dwells in complete secrecy between southern Bohemia meadows, ponds and woodlots. The top of the stone is covered by gentle petroglyphs of some "fairy tale" style. Some of the carvings is fading under moss growth but the central theme of the enigmatic flower is still well recognisable.

According to a leading expert on the La Tène culture, archaeologist Prof. Jiří Waldhauser, this is a lovely copy of ancient petroglyphs, dating to the 19th century most probably. On the other hand it is necessary to mention that any detailed archaeological research of the place is missing.
And also some interesting local context can be mentioned. Another example of an ancient object copy is the "romantic grotta" near the Hostišovice Menhir north of the Blatná town. But the possible clue can be found just up the road. Remains of the prehistoric hillfort "Láz" was inhabited mainly in the La Tène and Hallstatt periods and is situated about 3km east from there.
