Uvala Maric 1 submitted by AlexHunger : Uvala Maric Zigurat 4 Tiered Zigurat with steps on East side. The 8 Barbarija tumuli, as well as the 3 Uvala Maric Zigurats were on the estate of the Dragonera Roman Villa, close to the Adriatic Sea. This site was recently excavated by Pula Museum Archeologists. It continues to puzzle them as the stone monument is of an archaic type, yet has some Roman potery shards, as well as pre-roman shards in... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Zigurat with 4 layers. This site is a complete mystery to local archeologists as Roman and pre-Roman pottery shards found in structure that would have been long obsolete by the time of the Roman occupation. Please submit your suggestions. One of 3 such structures.Tumuli and Zigurats would have been on Dragonera Roman Villa estate land.

    There is a similar building in Oberneustift in Austria (county Niederösterreich) which is also puzzling the archeologists. You can find it under:
