King of Frymburk
King of Frymburk submitted by ladrin : Early medieval stone relief is now part of the village park. (Vote or comment on this photo)
A distinctive piece of granite with a relief depicting a crowned head and hands raised up. This nice monument was found in the local pond in the village of Frymburk, Bohemia. Most probably it has origin in the early medieval stronghold located in the middle of the village. Only ruins remain these days.

It is not known whose face was carved in the stone and whether it is a complete work or only a part of some statue. There is an interesting remnant of an iron ring, which was used to tie horses. King of Frymburk can be found in the gentle park and was introduced to the public in 2018. Well done to all involved!
