Stone Circle in Västergötland

Stone circle to west of Kallby. Its correct name is not known, but is down a small track that leads to a pumping station. From the Kalby Rune Stones take the road that leaves the '44' past the petrol station. Keep looking right and the stones are in a field just round the right hand bend. Take the small track to the pumping station and park there and walk.
Seven huge boulders of pink granite, some six foot wide, sit on a slight rise like a cubist sculpture. They are arranged with a gap to the roughly north west( sorry no compass with me) The gap seems intentional as there was no evidence of rock debris anywhere or another out of place stone. The stone that faces the gap may have fallen as its longer and more retangular than the others, but then again it may be just my misinterpritation. The site itself is on a slight rise above a small meandering stream by the pump house. Some of the stones have huge inclussions of quartz in them and they were possibly chosen for this reason. Lovely site. Thanks to stephanie for showing me this site and the rune stones.
