Öinge treuddar
Öinge treuddar submitted by Tonnox : Öinge treuddar. RAÄ-nummer Asige 68:1. Foto august 2022. Treudd is a prehistoric stone-set grave in the form of a three-sided stone set with markedly curved sides. The tombs are often empty, which suggests that they may sometimes have been purely of cultic importance. Graves of this type are from the older and younger Iron Age. Öinge treuddar consits two of the largest Treuddar(tridents)... (Vote or comment on this photo)
Two of the largest tridents (treuddar) in Sweden. Each has a length of 33 metres and a height of about 0.6 metres. They are positioned 25 metres from each other. They are thought to belong to the period 400-600 CE and are probably graves. Other researchers think they were a place of cult worship. Tridents are associated with the Nordic gods Oden, Thor and Frej.
