Ancient settlement on the river Shilka in Russia
In the field season of 2009, the Blagoveshchensky archaeological detachment of the IAET SB RAS, in collaboration with colleagues from the Transbaikal regional museum of local lore. A.K. Kuznetsova continued work on the study of the archaeological microdistrict in the area of the middle reaches of the Shilka River from the mouth of the river Kara to the mouth of the river Gorbitza (Sretensky district of Transbaikalian region).
In addition to archaeological monuments of other epochs, there is a system of medieval fortifications, which can be dated to the end of I - the beginning of the 2nd millennium AD.
