Now located at Landesmuseum für Vorgeschichte Halle this small, but remarkable and well-preserved statue menhir was discovered in 1962 at Schafstädt. It dates back to neolithic age. The carvings include eyes, mouth, nose, brows, arms, hands, fingers, a kind of necklace and a comb-like object between the hands. All in all there is a great similarity to some statue menhirs known from France.
Height is 94cm. Just as the carved menhir of Langeneichstädt this menhir was reused as building material of a chambered tomb, but most likely originally standing.
