Styrdalen / Valla submitted by cereus : The beautiful dolmen on the island of Tjörn. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Burial Chamber (Dolmen) in Bohuslän

One of the most beautiful dolmens I have seen in Sweden. Easily reached and in perfect condition.

Additional information submitted by Drew Parsons in September 2011: The dolmen is located on its mound right by the side of the road. There are four orthostats holding up the capstone to form a small square chamber. On the capstone there are 15 cupmarks, and others appear on one of the orthostats too. The site was excavated and restored in 1915. To reach the site travel north from the village of Kållekärr on Tjörn Island for 2.5 kilometres and turn right (east) on a small gravel road towards Galov, Styrdal and Valla. The dolmen is located on the south side of the road 1.5 kilometres along it.
