In 2006, the Bavarian Archeology Department published a picture book of sites only visible from the air. This and many other sites in Bavaria have the same problem of not beein visible from the ground due to intensive agriculture. In settlements, often only the post holes remain.
You would need to use a photo kite during the summer to get a picture of the real site. Most earth mounds in the area are modern things.
There is one near the Manching airport, which the modern Luftwaffe used for target practice for many years, which the Locals call "Bombodrome" and the civilian pilots use as a landmark for navigation.

Just been out to the supossed site. The gravel pit is about 3km from the village of Neufaren and closer to Eching which lies betwwen the two. Just off the ST2053 the gravel works are shown on the detail map page. Theres a high embankment preventing views of the site along this road. On google earth at 48 17'17.74" N 11 36'54.45"W about 100m north of the pit is a circular structure in the middle of which is a pylon. Alhough this does not match the reported henge its odd in its self .None of the surrounding pylons have this feature so I dont think its part of the pyon placement. Unfortunatley . This is the best shot I managed to get.

I saw pictures in a book on Bavarian archeology. It's only visible at certain times of the year, if the light and vegetation is just right. I scaled it from the picture to the map.

Hi,

I cannot figure out on the Google map where the "Neufahrn Ringheiligtum" is. Could you maybe help me spot it? For instance, is it in the middle of the fields or close to which building in the industrial zone?

Thanks!
