The carvings have never been painted but when I visited the site it was raining so the wet rock surface and light reflex made the carvings easy to see.
The panel consists of a large number of boats, I counted 23 in total, some of them are the classic double hulled bronze age boat carving with vertical lines resembling crew. Some boats are shaped like bananas or sausages, locally called sausage boats. These boats are furthest down on the rock face.
On top of the rock face is a number of bird figures, also figures of horses and humans. Most of the carvings of animals are found furthest up on the panel while the boats furthest down. There are also a large number of figures that can be difficult to make out, some I believe are of humans and some animals but it is difficult to make out which animals they picture.
Even tho the site doesnt have painted carvings and dont have any information posters, the site is well worth a visit!
