Spronser Seen (Sprons Lakes) submitted by MaRe : Die Sternenplatte (the star platter) is one of over 40 stones with more than 1,300 cup-marks and lines. (Vote or comment on this photo)
In the Spronsian lake district in Italy at 2100m altitude, many cup-marked stones can be found, including an impressive carving known as the Sonnenplatte (Sun platter). There is also a prehistoric sanctuary and lake that was presumably an important part of the setting. More photos on our page.
