The Archaeological Park in Herrsching am Ammersee (Bavaria, Germany) is located at the original site of finds from the Roman and Baiuvarian (early Medieval) time. The remains of a Roman villa rustica (ca. 2nd-4th century) were excavated at a modern cemetery in 2004 and 2011. The marked post holes of a post in ground building and the foundation walls of a bath house can be seen in the park. A Baiuvarian cemetery and the foundation walls of a chapel from the 7th century were discovered in 1982. The chapel is one of the oldest known churches in southern Germany.

The first version was erected as a wooden church in the early 7th century. The stone church was built in the late 7th century and was most likely the private church of a noble family.
The 14 graves were made of tuff and contained the bones of 15 adults and 4 children. Although this was an early Christian cemetery, some graves still contained grave goods, as known from Pagan burials.
It is likely that not the entire cemetery has been excavated so far.

Some of the finds are presented within the reconstructed chapel. The remains of some of the Roman buildings and the Baiuvarian graves are accessible via a modern cemetery.
