This site has a series of Brahman Sanctuaries more recently converted for Hindu Worship and then Buddhist. The quincunx of the central plaza is exquisite. It has a large central sanctuary with a restored yoni, but unfortunately the original short linga is missing.
Surrounding it are two east and two west sanctuaries, these are in varying states of repair. One or two have the original linga with the yoni removed and a Siva or Buddha crudely placed on the top. None of the original doors are in place.
The original structures were corbelled brick drying towers. The central one has been quite successfully converted to a place of worship by the shading over the doorways pointing east and west. At midday the structures remain rather hot to visit, though the destruction to the top of the brick towers has helped cool things a little.
Most unusually for Asia there is an eight sided version with the same basic elements but the original yoni lying on the ground reflects the octagonal shape as opposed to the normal square.
Surrounding this central complex there are water reservoirs and other utile buildings. The whole area is dotted with other smaller sanctuaries, some not even recorded.
