At Solåsen in Fredrikstad there is a unusual site. The site consists of a large stone circle with a cairn in the center and smaller lines of stones radiating from the central cairn out to the edges and with larger stones surrounding the outer circle. The central cairn is around one metre in height. The smaller stones forming the lines outwards are from 20-30cm wide. It seems to have been some disturbances and some parts have been moved around in later years.
The theory is that this is supposed to be a "sun wheel", some sort of site for worship or rituals. The closest comparable site would be Domsteinane at Sola Kummune in Rogaland.
