Vetulonia Mura dell' Arce submitted by Martin_L : The Cyclopean wall: At the north-east edge of the medieval village: a part of a megalithic Etruscan wall probably built in the 6th century BC. Scan of diapositive taken in 1997 (Vote or comment on this photo)
Vetulonia was one of the most important etruscan settlements.

Nowadays it is a beautiful village. Apart from the large Necropolis nearby the most visible etruscan remains are located at the north-east edge of the medieval village: a part of an Etruscan wall built of megalithic slabs probably in the 6th century BC and the foundation walls of several etruscan atrium-houses. Discovered by Isidoro Falchi in the 1890s. The site is also called Via di Ciclopi.
