This was my third attempt to find some of the 'Schalenstein' (stones with cup marks) in the mighty Sachsenwald forest.

Some days ago I had found the description of Karl-Heinz Dittmann, who did an excavation of a pretty big Schalenstein in 1938.

This stone has a flat surface facing up, and this surface was just about 0.2m above the ground in those days.
It has a triangle like shape with some 2m long sides.
Dittmann counted 114 cup marks on this surface, plus 2 on the north side.

Following the simplistic map of Dittmann, I first found a smaller stone, but then the exact one that he had written about.

Some pagans had set up a circle of stones arround it, plus a childish stone/wood contruction.
