Modern Stone Circle / Monolith in Randers
The place named "Ammelhede" occurs in a story involving the legendary Iron Age King Amled. This story, first recorded ca. 1200, is said to have inspired W. Shakespeare for his Hamlet. Based on this account, a memorial stone was erected in 1933 and called "Hamlets Grav".
Access by car theoretically up to the site, but in practice the last 100 on foot. The earth road passing in front of the site leads to a farmstead.
