Hillfort in Sør-Trøndelag

At a small point going out in the sea with a round rocky hilltop with steep sides is the overgrown remains of a small hillfort. The hilltop falls steeply into the ocean at the west, south west and south sides and it would have been a easily defensive position. The only remains of the walls are against the north-east where the point is connected to the mainland.

The hillfort has not been excavated but is believed to be from the age of migration as many other known hillforts in Scandinavia.

The only part of the walls that is possible to see is some few metres of overgrown rocks on a short line going east-west. They are only visible as rocks overgrown with grass that can be felt under the short grass covering them. They are very hard to find since the whole hill is covered with large and smaller trees, torn bushes and smaller vegetation.
Almost at the top of the cliff is a rectangular fresh water pool that is believed to have been a well with fresh water, today the water is black with moisture from the marsh.

At the north east side is also a ravine or small valley between two cliffs and it is a theory that this is where the entrance to the hillfort once was. To get to the hillfort visitors have to cross a wheat field and go trough a hedge of torn bushes, so visits to this site would be most recommended in winter!
