This early iron age settlement site consists of the foundations of a longhouse and several smaller burial cairns.

The foundations measure about 20 metres in length and are about 6-7 metres wide, they have very nice rounded corners. The foundations are easily visible and are well marked and elevated in the otherwise flat terrain. The longhouse is surrounded by 30-40 small round burial cairns. They are from 3 to 7 metres across.
A very good example of a settlement or single farm from the iron age. The longhouse was excavated and a fireplace was discovered in the middle of the house. The charcoal was dated back to 300-400BC.

The area is inside a grazing field for cows, making the site easier to see since the grass has almost been eaten away.

This settlement site is located inside a beautiful valley landscape very close to the Gaula river, at a small flat area just between the river and the road. The site is slightly elevated from the surrounding terrain. It is surrounded by a very nice forest and offers beautiful views over the valley and the mountains around.
