Barrow Cemetery in Cataluña
Google Translation: The site is located in part of the Secanella, about 650 m northeast of Cornudella, in a typical agricultural landscape segarrenc where alternating fields of grain with small slices of dry forest and oak pine. It is a necropolis of tombs excavated in the rock. According to the Archaeological Charter of 1986 counted 60 graves, but the review carried out in 2006 were only 43 documented graves predominate with trapezoidal and rectangular, although some have rounded ends. Most of the graves belong to adults, although there are three that could belong to children belonging and three babies (do less than one meter in length). Some have to put the ridge cap with a thickness of about 5 cm. Although the general state of conservation of the necropolis is quite good, the erosion of sandstone rock to fracture, falling blocks form the northern slope of the hill and has completely shifted some of the tombs of their original place. The fact of not knowing any nearby habitat that may relate to locate this deposit prevents precisely this chronology, although its genre, it can be assumed that were excavated early medieval era.
