Hello I saw this henge today for the first time and was so taken aback by it. Now I know a little of the history thanks for helping me to understand why it is here in Norfolk. What fun to keep the stones. It is making my stay in Trunch a very happy one. There are so many things to discover about this delightful part of Norfolk.

hello ! This circle is in the garden of my home and I can help you with the information. The stone henge was built by the previous owner as a celebration in 1989. He sourced Carr stones and had the henge built by the local farmworkers. The henge is properly aligned so that the shadow falls on the largest stones at the summer and winter solstices.

When we first moved here we thought about having them removed (my husband is a musician and we thought it was a bit spinal tap!) but in the end we never got around to it and have since fallen in love with them as they have become part of the history of the house. They were hidden behind a large hedge until we cleared it and put a a gate in with views from the road and now locals love to see it as they pass by - we have had many fantastic firework partys around it, and occasionally see the odd person picnicking near them which we don't mind at all ! its nice people can enjoy them.
