Crop marks of three ring ditches were seen on air photographs taken at Levington.
All three sites were excavated in advance of construction of Ipswich by-pass in 1978 Bronze age pottery found in all three but an intact cremation was found in only one.

Bronze age pottery was found, mainly of collared urn type was found. Iron age and Romano-British pottery was also found in the the upper levels of the ditch. In another ditch some more Iron Age pottery was discovered.
