(sorry for my franglais)
One of my favorite game is to search for engravings on stones. Some of this engravings are allways situated "all around" the prehistorics sites. More precisly in the "paleo-agro-sylvo-pasto-territory"... on the ways between paleo-villages and far mountains (for me in the Pyrénées centrales of migrant pastoralism).
Megalithics anthropics stones like burial chambers ; standing stones ; circles of stones... that means also villages some-where, and certainly near megaliths (as show archeology).
But engravings "all around" megalithics stones give good keys to understand complexity of settlements, humans territory, communications, etc...
The book of Phillip Bahn (GB) about the Pyrénées concerning paleolithics ages (not translated in french at this day) is one of the first who employed the reality of something like "the Paleo-territory".
