Natural Stone / Glacial Erratic in Suffolk

"Drake" usually means "Dragon" and so the puddingstone here is likely to mean "Dragon's Stone". Immense stone in the orchard of the isolated farm on the site of a deserted medieval village. Site No. 16 on the Puddingstone Trail

Drakestone Green Puddingstone
Drakestone Green Puddingstone submitted by willowman1 : The 'puddingstone' at Drakestone Green, as I saw it back in the 1980's, actually a ferruginous conglomerate. It's now hidden under a hedge, but the current owner tells me that it's about a metre high, and that there's a similar stone not far away at Ropers Green. (Vote or comment on this photo)

The correct grid reference for this stone is TL995453. I visited the stone back in the 1980s. It was then visible sticking out of the verge outside Drakestone Farm.
