The Birchwood Monolith
The Birchwood Monolith submitted by TimPrevett : Looking north east - approach is best via the surfaced path just to the left of the stone. Photo 23rd February 2020 with iPhone 6s. A large modern monolith with likely observable solsticial alignments framed via a road to the south. Around eight feet tall, the monolith's broad sides face north-north-west / south-south-east suggesting some solsticial or near solsticial alignment. Referring to S... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Birchen Edge 1
Birchen Edge 1 submitted by stu : Hard to find, even harder to photograph. The cairn on the NE side of the ring cairns bank is the clump of heather in the centre of the picture, the overgrown bank of the ring cairn roughly follows the line of the grass. A bit of a let down. Birchanger Woods - Essex
Birchanger Woods - Essex submitted by Thorgrim : Landscape Gallery Is there anything lovelier than an English bluebell wood? Yet this picture of peace and tranquility is an illusion. Traffic roars by on a slip road to the fume sodden M11 which lies alongside and the ravenous, land hungry giant of Stansted Airport is on its doorstep. Petrol, diesel and aircraft exhausts gently and perpetually seep through the woods and an adjacent prairie ... (2 comments)

The Birchwood Monolith
The Birchwood Monolith submitted by TimPrevett : View to the south west, the M6 very close by, A574 to the right. This photo was taken from the side of the mound, off the path. It was very slippery, so deviate from the path at your own peril. I was lucky not to fall or twist something descending from here! Photo 23rd February 2020 with iPhone 6s. The Birchwood Monolith
The Birchwood Monolith submitted by TimPrevett : Slightly offset from the centre, looking south east. Birchwood Boulevard (to the rear) aligns clearly from the stone and path.
