Danbury is positioned on fairly significant hill for Essex, with a fairly picturesque village all around its slopes with a nice church with spire perched on the top, in the centre of what was once a hillfort.

Upon visiting the site, there is a noticeboard giving some details, including the information that there is very little of the earthworks left to be seen, and indeed those that are left are not in easily accessible areas either fenced off or in gardens).

From the churchyard, looking with an eye for these things, and an approximately oval shape can be ascertained around the outside of the graveyard, some still left in the form of hedges, other sections in boundary fences etc.
