Marker Stone in Suffolk

A glacial erratic (possibly sarsen) roughly 5 feet in length when standing, now lays in the Stour Brook in several pieces, above and below the waterline.
Possibly a marker stone for a river crossing.

Haverhill marker stone submitted by DdraigMorMynydd : There is also a digger that appears to be being used to clear out the Stour Brook. I don't know if the council or whoever is responsible for the work is aware of the significance of the stone, however I plan to try to contact them tomorrow to ask them what their plans are . Hopefully they will preserve the stone if they realise what it is. (Vote or comment on this photo)
