St Leonard's Well (West Malling)
St Leonard's Well (West Malling) submitted by DavidCWoods : The well is by the roadside, somewhat overgrown. Not quite clear whether the water was running, but the ground if front was certainly wet. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Kent. Beside the road at the base of St. Leonards Tower on the road out of West Malling towards Mereworth. The well site is an arched, bricked cave shape - there is some water in it, and although it appeared stagnant there is a channel under the road and a stream on the other side. Not sure of the story behind the well - the local abbey was dedicated to St. Mary and was some distance away.

Fairly easy to find though a signboard and some history would be nice as would a step or 2 down into it. needs a little tidy up. The waters flow nicely and are easy to draw from ice cold and crystal clear and not stagnant. English Heritage of the coucil should look after it. a beautiful well, worth a visit.
