Round Barrow in Cambridgeshire

Thriplow is believed to be named after the tumulus of Tryppa, Tryppa being a Bronze Age chieftain who was said to be buried in the tumulus which was south east of the church. In the 1780s Dr Bernard 'attacked this tumulus...with ten men' but apparently found nothing. However in the 1840s Richard Cornwallis Neville reported that there were still persistent rumours that two swords had been found.
