Ancient Village n Chiapas.
The official INAH page states the site was occupied 200 AD till about 1200 AD, therefore a Classic till late in Post Classic era site. It is not defined as a Maya site perse, but not attributed to any other culture either. The only Wikipedia page, in Spanish, lists it as a Mayan Highland site.

This site is a bit of an enigma to me.
My notes, based on local info from Comitan and the information panels at the site, mention earlier occupation, maybe late Olmec or Mixe-Zoque. If Olmec, it would fit in the migratory pattern from the Gulf of Mexico heartland towards the Pacific, as the Site of Izabal is even further south. The North North East - South South West orientation of the Pyramids is surely not in the Classic Era pattern of building, but that has been encountered at more than a few Highland sites, and surely in Post Classic, say Toltec-Mayan sites.
Also, the site has no less then 3 Ball courts, which is astonishing for such a minor site. A retrieved ball court marker, at the Tuxtla Gutierrez Regional Museum, shows a Post Classic Maya style ballplayer wearing an Ehecatl - God of the Wind in Central Mexican culture - mask.
Few inscriptions were found, the last long count date encountered being 874 AD.
My picset here.
