Balmoral Mounds submitted by AKFisher : Balmoral Mounds in Louisiana. Louisiana has a mound site now dated to nearly 10,000 BC. The state's many mound complexes were being constructed and used all the way to the 1600s. These are 2 of the Balmoral Mounds, thought to have been made around AD 1000.
