Holy Well in Co. Clare

Holy wells abound in Co. Clare but most are neglected. St. Brigid's on the R478 2 miles west of Liscannor is a notable exception. The curved passage leading to the well is festooned with votive offerings some with a less than obvious connection with the Christian religion!
