Six burial mounds and a village site identified as part of the "Miller culture" (100 BC to 100 AD) of the broader Middle Woodland period. In the 1940's the mounds were excavated completely, but two were reconstructed to their original size and shape.
The burial mounds contained human remains buried in a variety of ways, including cremations packaged in budles and remains buried in small log tombs or chambers. Grave goods included items made of non-local materials The footprints of circular houses were also found.
The site is just off the Natchez Trace Parkway. It is signposted and has interpretive signage on site.
