Ancient Settlement in Daviess County, Indiana.
Based on the types of projectile points found, including Merom Expanding Stem and Trimble Side Notched, Glendale Ridge dates to the Terminal Archaic Riverton Culture (1,500-1,000 B.C.). Additionally, other artifacts found indicate that hunting, gathering, food processing (including butchering), wood working, and tool processing took place at the site.

This indicates that the site was likely used as a base camp. The variety of artifacts recovered at the site could be vital for further study of the relationship between Riverton and other traditions in the region as well as the chronology of Riverton culture and the tradition in general. More specifically, the carbonized floral and faunal remains found at the site could shed light on the various components of native diets and could provide evidence of early plant domestication. Additionally, the large amount of lithic tools and debris found at the site could allow for the study of the Riverton Micro-tool industry. Finally, the presence of marine shell, copper, and non-local chert indicates interregional trade.
