Standing Stone (Menhir) in Randolf County, Alabama.
Made of local schist, this irregular upright slab has an above ground height of approximately 6 feet. The structure is located on a tallus slope at Nelson's Bend of the Little Tallapoosa River, now part of the Rother L. Harris Reservoir.

Described by Knight in 1975, there are other recumbent stones nearby that may have also stood at one time. Hubbert and Wright (1987) recorded a radio carbon date of 1150 AD (+/-70) associated with this stone, which lies close by a rockshelter and a stone fishing weir.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The location given is for a nearby village and should not be used for locating the site. The location will be updated when possible.
