Not a lot is left undisturbed, but the mound has been rebuilt after a long ago excavation. There was a second mound that was not rebuilt. There is a wall that partially encloses the area.

Seip Mound is one of the largest Hopewell earthen mounds. It is oval and roughly 80 m x 30 m, and over 10 m high. The mound was originally at the center of a large circular portion of an earthwork enclosure, which has disappeared (almost entirely) as it was plowed over for crops.
Originally there were smaller mounds at the site in addition to the earthworks. Archeological excavations have discovered signs of several small buildings close by the mound and sunk posts and rectangles cleared of grass indicate their location.
When I visited this site several years back, the area was still fairly rural. The mound is grass covered and the area around it is kept mowed to keep trees and shrubs from growing up.
The site is operated by the Ohio Historical Society and is accessible year round. There is a kiosk near a parking area providing information on the site.
