Monte Tetón Archaeological Eco Park submitted by Firewhorl : Monte Tetón - (Site 1) Closer view of the largest circle - 350cm in diameter. (Vote or comment on this photo)
The Monte Tetón Archaeological Eco Park, located near the village of Tebra in South Western Galicia, has some of the most important ancient petroglyphs in Europe. There are a huge collection of images (about 200) found at the two sites, approximately 300 metres apart, including a collection of 18 concentric rings - the largest having a diameter of 350cm - considered to be some of the biggest petroglyphs of that kind in Europe.

The site is marked once you arrive to the entrance, but I was very surprised that there were no other indications on any of the roads in the vicinity considering the historical importance of this place!

One word of warning - I visited the site in early September on a very hot day and was continually plagued by giant Horseflies that were very aggressive and attacked in large groups drawing blood on many occasions as I was taking the photographs! After a short while I had to abandon the visit but will hopefully try and visit again in the wintertime.

This is incredibly difficult to make out and impossible to photograph at the time of day I visited. Maybe late in the day with long shadows or of a night with lights would be better.
