The Castriño de Conxo is an archaeological site made up of a pre-Roman fort - and part of it a rock whose surface contains a series of petroglyphs.

Located in the parish of Conxo , in the municipality of Santiago de Compostela , province of A Coruña , in the place known as A Volta do Castro.

On a rock that is not highon the ground (as is common in Galician petroglyphs) located on the upper parapet of the Castro settlement we find petroglyphs engraved on its surface that have a special relevance as weapons representations , linked to British rock art datable around III -II millennium BC. Triangular designs (some rays) that some authors interpret as anthropomorphic idols, others such as double-edged axes or triangular shields are also appreciated.

You can clearly see figures like a dagger with double ribs, two swords with handles; also up to four possible, simplified, halberds (of very unusual representation in Spain), a weapon of Central European origin, and other very eroded traits, possible remnants of other weapons represented.

The weapons represented are the objects that allow to give the possible chronology exhibited previously. Of particular relevance is that no axes or other agricultural or utilitarian elements are represented, only weapons, whose possession is interpreted as a symbol of power and prestige of a society that walks from a situation of equality towards a stratified and strongly hierarchical society.

Several archaeological surveys of the Castro have found a very irregular oval enclosure. In it were hand mills and different pieces of pottery. Only one wall was visible, 5 meters long by half a meter tall.

It is in a complete state of abandonment, so it is not easy to visit, asit is covered with vegetation and grassland. Much of the site is in private ownership
