Standing Stone (Menhir) in Co. Cork

A solitary standing stone officially recorded as monument number CO086-041----

In pasture, on N-facing slope. Rectangular stone (H 1.35m; 1m x 0.75m), leaning slightly to E, long axis E-W.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).

The upper horizontal stone surface would appear to have been worked to create a ripple / undulating effect and is decorated with a number of cup marks.
