Stone Skull
Stone Skull submitted by aluta : From a photo by Earl Dundore, a striking simulacrum from a park in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. Interestingly, it can only be seen from an angle that requires the viewer to stand in the middle of a creek. From other angles, however, one who looks carefully can see that the rock has been worked to form the image, as mosses were scraped off in the process. No one seems to know when this was don... Rock Art in Pennsyvania, United States

Peculiar carved rock face at the bottom of a deadly steep and high bank above the Bushkill Creek. The skull is invisible except from one angle, best seen from the middle of the stream. Once you see it, however, you can see where the carving was done. A few yards downstream if you look closely you can see a roughly rectangular window carved the same way in a sort of curtain of rock along the creek.

It is unkown who did this and when. Many people come and go from this popular part of the park at all times of year without noticing its presence.
