This is Site B on the published map.

This one area of F. Gilbert Hills state park has probably the densest combination of 'prayer seats' in New England, if indeed they are prayer seats. I've trail walked extensively in Mass, RI, and CT and no other location comes close. Why are they there in such profusion and barely seen elsewhere? No one knows.

Unlike the UK and Europe, where academic archaeologists take megalithic sites seriously and consider them worthy of study, their counterparts in my area are generally dismissive of stone structures here as being any more than the product of post-contact agricultural or property marking activity by European settlers. The "native american" ceremonial explanation is usually last on their list, if at all.

This attitude is changing, but very slowly. Lack of academic or govt funding for serious studies is a big part of the problem. But we avocational enthusiasts keep uncovering this stuff.
