Pair of Standing Stones in Co.Donegal. These 2 standing stones, 1'6" apart, are aligned E/W. They are probably the remains of a megalithic tomb. Sketches drawn in 1847 showed the existence of a gallery.

Re: Stroove Standing Stones by Anonymous on Friday, 18 August 2023
when i was growing up, we had a home on this site. we used to play on top of the stones. I remember the ground was overgrown but there were many large loose stones around. this site was studies by a group of Japanese ( I don't remember who but a google search will find it).

This site is thought to be a Dermot and Grainne covered Passage Tomb.

I also remember my father telling a story about how a cow fell into a hole when land gave way. It was was described as a cave with drawings on the wall. The hole was filled in by the farmer . He does not remember telling this and I don't know if it was the same spot in the field either. However, it might make sense as to why the farmer sold that part of the field.
