Henge in Co. Meath
A large circular henge monument measuring around 450 feet wide, on private land. There are several notable gaps in the enclosing bank which is truncated by a modern driveway on the eastern side. The henge is centrally positioned between, and indeed equidistant from Micknanstown Henge to the east (near the Fourknocks passage mound complex), and the Rath Maeve henge to the west (which is close to the Hill of Tara ceremonial complex). It is located about 10 miles directly south of the Boyne Valley complex of passage mounds. Its size is approaching that of Dowth Henge in the Boyne Valley, which suggests it was once a very important site in the region.
