Drumnahare
Drumnahare submitted by Stone Free : I was disappointed to see a tree planted one side of the stone AND a 25ft tall metal pole erected on the other side. This the stone is a scheduled monument & s*** like this is forbidden. Such a pretty stone too with the lake & crannog in the background. (Vote or comment on this photo)
This standing stone in Co. Down has recently had a huge flagpole and tree planted right next to it. More on our page. Not good.

This standing stone is about 1.5m high 90cm wide and 60cm thick. It was excavated in 1953 when the total height was found to be about 1.8m. It inclines slightly towards the north. Scattered loose around the south-east angle of the stone were cremated bones of one adult. No grave goods were found.
