Port Ellen submitted by kelpie : This large upright stone stands in a field off a small road just outside Port Ellen on the road to Laphroaig. Good views over the bay and to the hills behind. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Standing Stone in Islay just outside Port Ellen

This stone stands at around thirteen feet and is in an arable field to the east of the Kilbride road. Of rough schist, it measures 0.92m by 0.53m at ground level and 4.30m in height with the longer axis aligned NNW and SSE. (information from CANMORE)
