Possible burial chamber on the Isle of Skye. An apparent megalithic assemblage in the arrangement of a collapsed dolmen or quoit, lying in an isolated cluster on private moorland. The sidewall stones are still in situ and indicate a winter solstice sunset alignment with the adjacent Isle of Rhum. The capstone, lying to one side, is a regular lozenge shape.

The site may have been used as a sanctuary-observatory rather than a burial chamber but without a detailed survey and excavation this remains speculative. It may be significant that there is a small pointed rock outcrop adjacent to the feature called Cnoc an Temple on old maps.

The Blue pecked arrow points WNW along the long axis of the dolmen (242 degrees) towards a distinctive ... (Vote or comment on this photo)
