El Tajo de las Figuras contains over 500 painted figures on its rock walls, with superimposed figures and scenes, which have often been repainted. The motifs are of different sizes, styles and colours, which determine different phases in their production. They can be classified in three main groups: human figures, animal representations and signs.
The 507 paintings at El Tajo de las Figuras can be classified into three main groups, where the most common figures are birds, deer and humans. The most usual colours are red, yellow and white. In general terms, their age can probably be established in the Upper Palaeolithic and the Copper Age, until at least the early Bronze Age. Zoomorphic figures and schematic motifs are also abundant.
Age: Probably between the Upper Palaeolithic and the early Bronze Age.

The site warden, who is normally at the entrance of El Tajo de las Figuras, will point out the way or accompany visitors to the necropolis that is very near the rock-art site. The access is quite difficult (by steep ladders) and is not recommended for small children and elderly people with limited mobility.
