Maatje visited on 25th Feb 2024 - their rating: Cond: 4 Amb: 4 Access: 4 The site was in good condition. The entrance, the fence, to the site was closed so you had to step over the side lower fence. That would be impossible with a wheelchair. About the Dolmen, it is situated in a flat landscape and the shape is round hill and therefore peculiar in itself. Unfortunately another Dolmen nearby was destroyed in the 70's. In the area are traces found of villages, occupation and mines. It is not mentioned where you can see the artifacts found, he beads. paints and tools. I will add some pictures of the other sites in Vilamartín - most of them cannot be found.

Abstract - Megalithic and outdoor art. Defining territorial boundaries in producer groups of the Iberian Peninsula.
Continuing an investigation line based on the study of the Iberian megalithic art, the authors propose the analysis of the location of the graphics for delimiting the occupied territories in the Peninsular recent prehistory. The argument departs on the basis that from the graphic point of view, as well as from the technical point of view, the art developed inside megaliths is basically akin to that developed outside in painted shelters or in engraved rocks in the open air. So we can delimit a megalithic style on various supports located in concrete areas of the territory.

These zones are not random, but they have been chosen by their economic and symbolic meanings and, as such the location of the graphics reflects a visible system for marking territories. This proposal is centred on a location model for graphics in relationship to the occupation of the landscape in the peninsular south-west, during the Neolithic and the Chalcolithic.
