Museum in Andalucía

This Museum of the City of Carmona has a rich collection of its regional history. With Artefacts from as far as 400.00 years ago. Humans have lived here half a million years ago due to the conditions of a ridge near fertile land, the terraces of the Gualdalquivir Valley, the abundance of game, the climate and a central place for trading.
The museums explains its rich history in Spanish and English.
There are remains of neolithic dwellings, a round hole carved in the rocks that could be covered with straw. Copper and iron have been traded as well eg an ivory comb from Carmona was found in the temple of Hera in Samos. Before the Phoeniciens arrival, the Tartesian People already had estabished a trading network between the Mediteranean and Atlantic.
Other artifacts are from the Roman and Moorish times.
The Museum is situated in the old village and housed in Casa Palacio del Marques de las Torres (18th century).
