A stone block containing a drinking basin and a cross has been inserted into the bank below the spring. After collecting in the bowl the water overflows making its way across the track and down into the burn. This makes for a very wet approach to the well. Holy Well (Saddell Abbey) submitted by KiwiBetsy : This lovely little well sits beside a track on the opposite side of a small burn to the ruins of Saddell Abbey. Heading south from Claonaig on the B842, park in the small Saddell Abbey carpark on the right of the road. After visiting the abbey ruins and the carved graveslabs and effigies, return to the main road, walk over the small burn and almost immediately turn right up a path along it’s sou... If you are visiting this well I strongly recommend that you visit Saddell Abbey itself. Here you will find some amazing medieval stone slabs showing knights etc. The 12C abbey itself is in poor condition but the slabs are preserved in a modern covered area. Link: Saddell Abbey
